Right NOW, the U.S. delegation to the International Whaling Commission is poised to support a deal that would be the biggest threat to whales since the moratorium to commercial whaling was established in 1986. The proposal being considered would grant commercial quotas to Japan, Iceland and Norway.
As a candidate, President Obama said, "As president, I will ensure that the U.S. provides leadership in enforcing international wildlife protection agreements, including strengthening the international moratorium on commercial whaling. Allowing Japan to continue commercial whaling is unacceptable."
Why is President Obama going back on his promise? We WILL NOT stand by and watch commercial whaling paint our oceans red with the blood of whales. Sign the petition and tell the President to keep his promise to save the whales.
Take Action NOW: Tell Obama to keep his promise, save the whales.
