2016 – The Year of TLC for the Self

This is the year of grand potentials. Yes, it may be said that each new year brings with it new possibilities and potentials. That’s where cycles come into play. Beginnings and endings. Starts and finishes. Ebbs and flows. The flow of seasons. Life phases. So, what’s so special about 2016?  Special is what each of us chooses it to be and to fulfill, and to make meaningful in this new year. It comes in many ways: to laugh more, to be healthier, smarter, more successful. It brings with it dreams and whispers from our childhood, often of promises and vows we made to ourselves lost along the way as we went through the motions of living, growing, surviving, more than often compromising, pleasing others, following the crowd, telling ourselves all the while that “someday” we’d get back to what we REALLY want to do with our lives.
Following the vibrational energies of numerology, we have entered a “9” year, or 2+(0)+1+6 = 9. It is the year that brings with it a strong, compelling sense to bring to a close those parts of our lives that feel complete and finished. Even more, we feel a need often inexplicably to tie up any loose ends or unfinished, unresolved business in our lives. For many, it’s the time to move on. And it’s all grand. As with cycles, new potentials and new beginnings follow; the number 9 leads to a new cycle of 1-9s.

So, carpe diem. Seize the moment, embrace this year, now, as your time for completions and resolutions of unfinished stuff in your life, for opting out of what no longer works in our lives, and opting in to fulfilling your deepest desires – no more ifs, ands, or buts. There’s nothing more important now than doing what’s best for you and what brings joy and fulfillment to you first. Like the parent of young children instructed to put on one’s own oxygen mask before the child’s in case of an emergency during a flight, we must put ourselves first. In so doing, we have more to give to life, and the good of life comes to us. Such a notion to care, nurture, even pamper oneself need not be self-indulgence.  It’s TLC for the self, for your soul. It’s your time now. So mote it be, from the heart space of Lemuria.
